THE DESIGNER

"I love to feel relaxed and comfortable in what I wear but with some chic and style, something a little different. The colours and combinations of colours I use in my designs, are inspired by my travels throughout Asia and in particular India. I feel they give the collection a distinctive look".

Francoise Esterhazy commenced her career as a fashion designer in the early 1980's, when she first arrived in Australia after having traveled throughout Asia for over 10 years. She began by designing and producing knitwear for herself and her family but this hobby quickly turned into a full time occupation as she was inundated with requests from friends and acquaintances.

In 1983, Francoise Esterhazy was established as a small profitable business and the garment range expanded to include evening wear.

Francoise won the coveted 'Concours D'Elegance Supreme Award' during a week of resort fashion on Hamilton Island as well as being a finalist in the Australian Fashion Industry Awards.
